Hedger: Kane Stepping Up In Toews' Absence

(WSCR) As Jonathan Toews continues to rehab from a concussion, another Blackhawks superstar has stepped up in the captain's absence.

"If you remember back to the Toronto game, it didn't exactly start off so well," Brian Hedger of NHL.com told The McNeil and Spiegel Show. "You're down 3-1 in the first period. Then, it just seemed like with Patrick Kane, it just kind of all clicked in and he said, 'You know what? I'm sick of this.' The rest of the guys kind of followed suit. (Head coach Joel) Quennevile actually gave him credit after the game saying it was one of his best performances. He actually credited his leadership, which I thought was interesting.
