Asch: Bulls Might Be Stuck With Hamilton

(WSCR) Rip Hamilton has played in just 17 of the Bulls 40 games this season.

Still, the team has committed a great deal of money to the shooting guard and may be stuck with a bad deal.

"They've committed $5 million to Rip Hamilton this season and $5 million again next season," Steve Aschburner of NBA.com told The McNeil and Spiegel Show. "I'm not saying they can't do anything. Maybe they can pick up something on the cheap, but that was a bullet in their gun to be fired and they fired it. I didn't feel great about the move at the time because I watched him last season and found him to be very disappointing in the way he played for Detroit.

"I guess the half-full interpretation is that he didn't play that many minutes, so he's got more left in his 34-year-old (body.) The half-empty interpretation is that there were some bad habits there. Maybe his game had already started to vanish and he just didn't play enough for people to realize it. This injury proneness is a real concern."
