By Shawn Muller-

(CBS) Dear Jon ‘Stugotz’ Weiner and Marc Hochman of 790 The Ticket in Miami :

I would personally like to take the time to thank you two idiots for your idiotic statements regarding reigning NBA MVP– and Chicago’s favorite son — Derrick Rose.

If it weren’t for you two buffoons, Bulls fans probably wouldn’t be seeing Chicago as the hottest team in the NBA right now riding a current eight-game winning streak. They probably wouldn’t currently own the best record in the NBA (for the second straight season), and that certain point guard you disrespected probably wouldn’t be on the tear that he is currently on.

Ever since you two decided to call out Mr. Rose as a “fraud,” complained that he wasn’t dancing and carrying on like an idiot at the all-star game in Orlando, and proclaimed him to be the worst MVP in the history of the league, all that kid from the South Side of Chicago has done is play like a man possessed.

And like it or not, if Derrick Rose continues on the torrid pace that he is on and the Bulls keep playing the way they are right now down the stretch, that same “fraud” just might win his second straight league MVP trophy.

One of my favorite things to tell people is, “Never poke a stick at a sleeping tiger, because eventually, that tiger is going to wake up. And once he does, you are not going to like the outcome.”

Congratulations, you two.

That sleeping tiger you decided to poke that plays his home games at the United Center in Chicago  has risen from his slumber and he is taking out his anger on anyone and everyone in his path.

On the season, Derrick Rose is averaging 22.7 ppg, 7.8 apg, 3.4 rpg, and 0.9 spg.

In the six games he has played since your pre-pubescent remarks, Rose is averaging 26.3 ppg, 8.3 apg, 4.3 rpg, and 1.3 spg.

Since the two of you are probably incapable of basic math, let me help you out: His numbers are better across the board since you two decided to run your mouths.

The MVP award doesn’t always go to the player that scores the most points or averages the most rebounds or assists per game. It doesn’t always go to the “best player” either. If it did, Michael Jordan would have won the MVP every year he played in the league.

Instead, the award usually goes to the player that is the “most valuable” to his team.

Do either of you really think the Chicago Bulls would be 33-8 on the year without Derrick Rose running the show?

You are damn right they wouldn’t be, because a player like Rose is worth his weight in gold.

While he may not have the overall talent of a LeBron James or the scoring ability of a Kevin Durant or a Kobe Bryant, Derrick is just as important to his team as those players are to theirs.

To undervalue what he means to the Bulls is a joke, and the fact that people like you two can’t see that is an even bigger joke.

My advice to you is to never speak about any topic you have absolutely no clue about. It makes you look stupid, but more importantly, it makes you lose any and all credibility you may have had prior to opening your traps.

But like I said earlier: Thanks you two.

You may have done the Chicago Bulls and their fans a huge favor heading towards the playoffs.

    I’m a little confused….?

Is the writer actually claiming that his current superman of basketball needs the goading of two idiots….riding the airwaves in Miami….. to live up to his potential talent level?

That is not much of a compliment,…considering…

I mean…. I don’t recall Larry Bird, Magic, Wilt or Mr. Jordan needing to be called out by two buffoons on the radio in order to find the motivation to play better….so,..your observations may be correct regarding the young man’s recent on-court productivity…..but if the motivating factor is the two idiots in Miami…the boy needs to learn a little about personal pride, personal responsibility and living up to his contract, regardless of who says what…?

If I recall correctly, Michael Jordan always stepped it up a notch when criticized, that was one of his trademarks. So ,yes, Michael Jordan did find motivation to step it up …

      • RJ OGuillory

okay,..I see your point….but it is a bit relative,..isn’t it? I mean Jordan’s game was already ten times better than most on the court….when he turned it on,..it became super human..and he stayed there for a while…but in a way I see your point…

    • El Mas Chingon Heat

Heat fan here. All I can say is this is the most hilatious “article” I’ve ever read. Correct me if i’m wrong but didn’t the bulls have the best regular season record last year? Didn’t they have homecourt advantage last year? Didn’t he have the same torrid pace last year? Didn’t they lose to the Heat in 5? Don’t get me wrong, Rose is a baller. But he’s not even close to Brons level. He still only hit two jumpers, count them, two–in that win against the bucks. The bulls did absolutely nothing to upgrade in the off season. Homecourt is not too important to the Heat because even with home court, chances are your not going to take 4 out of 7 from us. Anything can happen, but….. Only reason Bron didn’t win MVP last year was backlash from the decision. THis “writer” is truly pathetic. Do not for one second believe the Heat are scared of Rose, the bulls, or the torrid pace they are on. BOOM .

  • Joe Rigamonte

Daaaa Bulls will win every regular season game until at least next season. Derrick Rose is so good he makes Lebron look like Kobe Bryant. Right now you cant beat this team. They are good inside, outside, it dont matter. They will be the best team in the regular season again. Haha. How do you like that Heat fans? Who cares if you will probably kick our ass again in the playoffs. We will have the best record in the regular season ONCE again!!

One of your favorite things to say to people is, “Never poke a stick at a sleeping tiger, because eventually, that tiger is going to wake up. And once he does, you are not going to like the outcome”?

Thats pretty long and clunky to be one of your favorite things to say to people. Talking to you must be a pretty painful experience to your friends and family.

  • Roman

Who said he “needed” that for motivation? It was simply pointed out that his numbers improved. pride? personal responsibility? living up to contract? What planet are you on. One of the humblest and best team players ever. You can judge a lot about a player by the way his teammates talk about him, this kid is loved by all of them. What a breath of fresh air in contrast to the circus of showboats in Miami.

    • RJ OGuillory

Hey now….Mr. Roman!….I was debating the POV of the writer…not the personal ethics of Mr. Rose….for whom I know virtually nothing….so if the writer is wrong…that supports my point as well…

…a professional player should not need to be motivated by anything anyone says to them, about them, or for them….and I think the ones like Bird, Wilt, etc….consistently demanded the best of themselves….(to a point)

The Chicago Bulls have more cheerleaders and showboats than ANYONE. Boozer can’t do anything without yelling, same for Taj. and same for The Gun show aka Noah.

  • Repinga Anosanto

This “sleeping tiger” of yours shoots 45% and can’t hit a late game free throw to save his life (see 2008 NCAA Championship Game and January 29, 2012 vs Miami HEAT). Derrick Rose is more farcical than ferocious.

  • Mike Scalise

You know what else an MVP does not need to do?? Call other All-Stars and beg them to all play together so they can win a Championship. THat is not an MVP that is a player that NEEDS to have other players win games for him.. MVPS want the ball at the end of games too. Sorry LeBron..

A “sleeping tiger” ranked 49th in field goal percentage, and who went 8 for 22 against the Bucks? The same MVP who shot 41 percent in “clutch” situations last year to LeBron’s 48 percent? This is pretty hilarious.

    • hasan

Yea DRose went 8 for 22 last night to the Bucks but since your bringing up stats, LeBron and the Heat have dropped 2 out of 3 to those same Bucks….Whats your point?

  • John Holakovsky

Repinga you are a complete idiot…. have you seen lebron in late games… he had 0 points and 0 attempts in last 5 minutes last night in a 3 point game. he was too scared to shoot the ball. Derrick also hit 2 late game free throws last night with under a minute left and went 14-14 from the line. Clearly, you don’t want the games you just watch ESPN who is in love with lebron. You and skip bayless should start watching games and learn basketball.

This is so idiotic. Please leave.

  • Grafton

Man, someone doesn’t have a sense of humor. I’m neither a Bulls fan or a Heat fan, but it’s pretty clear they were joking / intentionally, over-the-top trolling.

    • Carlos

Absolutely! I live in South Florida, and they are just having a ball, laughing at this author and had a great time with what happened with Waddle and Silvy. As I write this now, they are trying to come up with a fake, over the top clip criticizing Rose.

      • Martini Shark

Yea, they are eating this up down here. 790 has been punking other markets with these gag pronouncements going back to last season — playing the clips is a regular feature on their show.

The hilarity is in the theory that Rose was coasting until two sports DJs in a completely different market spoke is quite the testament to the man as a professional. What does that say to how he played in the first half of the season? That this journalist could not even look at that idea critically speaks volumes.

  • Miami Heat #1 Fan

Let’s be Honest here Derrick Rose, while a good player, is no where near MVP material. It was an utter joke for the NBA to give this guy yhe MVP last year. Mr. Rose being voted MVP was more about hating Lebron James, The Miami Heat, and The beautiful city of Miami in particular. Lebron James is the Best player in the nba, Derrick Rose isn’t even tall! Rose is a poor man’s Kevin Johnson and on top of that Lebron James OWNS this guy every time they play. GO HEAT :)

  • 612mpls17

Trying to get your name out there WE SEE!

  • Common Sense

Bulls are 7-3 without Rose this year.

  • blah

    Lebron owns DROSE

  • Javi

In Miami we have a saying that goes: “Dont use a stick to poke a turd, it’ll stink up the joint.” Exactly what this article is going.

  • Eugenio Totobueno

Derrick Rose wears a dog collar around his neck. It reads, “If found please return to LeBron James. 601 Biscayne Boulevard. Miami, Florida 33132″

    LeBron OWNS Derrick Rose.

  • Pepe BIllete

Wait….so 2 radio jockey from Miami is what it takes to wake D-Rose up? Sad.

  • You dun goofed.

You got trolled. You are the bigger idiot.

  • R. Gonzalez

lol….how do they let this guy write for CBS? This entire article is ridiculous. And by the way, it isn’t even close this year or last how much better Lebron is than ANYONE else in the league. I love how Chicago fans conveniently leave this quote out when talking about Rose over Lebron for MVP – “It’s hard where a guy, he’s running at top speed, he can easily catch up with you,” Rose said. “It’s extremely hard where a 6-8 guy can easily defend you.”

  • Shawn Muller is a JOKE

“One of my favorite things to tell people is, “Never poke a stick at a sleeping tiger, because eventually, that tiger is going to wake up. And once he does, you are not going to like the outcome.””….REALLLY?!? I mean really? this is one of your favorite things to say to people? really?
