Chilly And Breezy, But Clear, For Rest Of The Day

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Conditions will remain chilly and breezy Friday, but look for a warmup to the 50s over the weekend – and the upper 60s again next week.

CBS 2 Meteorologist John Boyle says it was 35 degrees at O'Hare and Midway international airports as of 11:20 a.m. But northwest winds blowing at 15-25 mph created a wind chill making it feel as if it were 25 degrees.

The high for the day is a mere 39 degrees. But on the bright side, skies are clear and dry, unlike across the lake on the west coast of Michigan where lake-effect snow is falling.

After an overnight low of 24, Saturday, mild air will flow in from the back side of a high-pressure system, and temperatures will climb to a high of 55 degrees. Sunday looks even nicer at 59, but rain showers will move in at night and continue Monday.

Next week, the temperature climbs every day until midweek. The high for Monday is 61, Tuesday 65, and Wednesday 68.
