Missing Uptown Man's Body Pulled From Montrose Harbor

CHICAGO (CBS) -- An Uptown neighborhood man's body has been pulled from Montrose Harbor, six days after he went missing.

Police pulled the man's body from Montrose Harbor about 8:20 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

He was later identified as Talmadge T. Channell, 35, of the 4400 block of North Malden Street, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. He was dead at the scene.

Channell was the subject of a missing persons report March 2, after he vanished from his home.

The alert indicated he might have suffered from periodic memory loss and confusion, though police could not say Friday morning how he came to be in the harbor.

An autopsy on Channell's body is scheduled for later Friday.
