Woman Struck, Killed By Car In West Chicago

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. (STMW) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in West Chicago Friday night.

The accident happened at 9:10 p.m. at Illinois Route 59 and Pine Street in the west suburb, a release from West Chicago police said.

The female pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, where she succumbed to injuries from the crash, police said. Her identity was being withheld pending notification of family.

The driver of the car apparently did not stop immediately but returned to the scene after realizing the damage to his car was the result of a collision with a person.

The accident remains under investigation Saturday.
