Rockford One Of Fattest Towns In United States

CHICAGO (CBS) — Residents of Rockford: You are fat.

According to a Gallup study, more than a third of the people living in Rockford are obese. That puts the town No. 4 on the list of the nation’s fattest metro areas. McAllen-Edinbugh-Mission, Texas ranks No. 1–where nearly 39 percent of its townsfolk are obese.

Boulder, Colo., residents are the skinniest–with an obesity rate of around 12 percent.

Gallup said it used Americans’ self-reported height and weight to calculate Body Mass Index (BMI). A BMI of 30 or higher is considered obese.
