Bears Sign LB Costanzo To 2-Year Deal
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Chicago Bears have signed free agent linebacker and special teams player Blake Costanzo to a two-year deal.
Costanzo, 27, played with the San Francisco 49ers last season. He has appeared in 61 games in five seasons, with Buffalo, Cleveland and San Francisco -- mostly on special teams.
The 6'1", 235-pound Costanzo was second on the 49ers last year with 17 special teams tackles. He had four special teams tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in the playoffs.
In 2009, he was named to Sports Illustrated's All-Pro team as a special teamer for the Cleveland Browns.
