Toyota Offers Chance To Win Free Car

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Toyota is offering charities a chance to win a free car.

As WBBM Newsradio's Regine Schlesinger reports, for a second straight year, Toyota is offering what it calls "100 cars in 100 days." The carmaker is taking applications from non-profit agencies that want to be included in an online Facebook contest.

Toyota's Jim Wiseman says last year, they had a wide range of winners.

"We had organizations that use their new vehicle to help breast cancer patients get to the doctor," Wiseman said. "We had the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago win a vehicle and they're using it to take their animals out to the schools to teach lessons and also to bring school kids into the zoo."

Through March 26, charities can apply through Toyota's 100 Cars for Good Facebook page. Then, starting May 14, everyday for 100 days, Facebook users will vote for one of five finalists. By the end, 100 agencies will have won a new vehicle to further their charitable work.
