(WSCR) Sometimes, sports chants can cross the line.

According to a report from Cole Manbeck of the Manhattan Mercury, during today’s opening round of the NCAA Tournament, a chant from the band section of Southern Missouri may have crossed that line.

While Kansas State’s Angel Rodriguez was at the line shooting free throws, the Southern Miss. band section began to chant “Where’s your Green Card?”

Rodriguez lists San Juan, Puerto Rico as his hometown, but he attended high school in Miami.

Does this chant cross the line?

Crosses it in a single bound. NCAA, CBS, and possibly FCC need to do something about it.

i think its funny, if it offends him he should not play basketball, it is called getting into the players head, everyone knows you dont need a green card if you are from puerto rico but i am curious to why he doesnt list miami as his home town

Of course it crosses the line, good grief. And it’s not just about getting into the player’s head, what about the other people trying to enjoy the game? Racism is disgusting in all forms, these people should be ashamed for even starting this nonsense.
