1-Year-Old, Mother Shot On South Side

CHICAGO (CBS) — A woman and her 1-year-old baby were grazed by gunfire Sunday afternoon in the Chatham neighborhood.

Police said the two were injured around 3:20 p.m. on the 600 block of East 79th Street.

The baby was taken to the University of Chicago’s Comer Children’s Hospital, and the mother was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, according to the Fire Department. Police said their injuries were not life-threatening.
