JOLIET, Ill. (STMW) - Police say a man acted as a chauffeur for a teenage couple in order to record them having sex.
Jesus A. Lemus, 24, was arrested at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday at his residence, in the 6400 block of Denali Ridge Drive, on charges of producing child pornography and possession of child pornography. He is being held in the county jail awaiting a $150,000 bond.
At 2:10 a.m. Jan. 3, officer Nate Loden reportedly noticed a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country minivan on the street near Townsend Drive and Daly Lane in the Cumberland subdivision.
“He saw the vehicle in the remote area at that hour and went to check it out,” Investigations Lt. Brian Dupuis said. “He then saw a naked 16-year-old boy pop up in the rear, followed by a naked 16-year-old girl,” Dupuis said.
Loden called for backup and had the teens get dressed. Police reportedly found a cell phone, condoms and contraceptives in the center console as Lemus was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor.
“Based on the interviews and investigation, it appears the boy was aware Lemus was using his cell phone to videotape them having sex, while the girl was not,” Dupuis said.
Lemus’ phone and computer equipment was sent to the Regional Computer Forensic Lab. On Monday, the analysts reportedly confirmed Lemus’ cell phone had videotaped the minors having sex, and police obtained a warrant for the pornography charges Tuesday morning.
