Keith Suspended 5 Games

(WSCR) Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith has been suspended five games for his hit to the head of Canucks forward Daniel Sedin during Wednesday’s game in Chicago.

Keith received the suspension during a phone hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety on Friday afternoon.

He was offered the chance to have an in-person hearing with the league but he waived that opportunity.

Here’s an explanation for Keith’s suspension from Senior Vice President of Player Safety and Hockey Operations, Brendan Shanahan.

ABSOLUTE BU LL SH!T !!!!!!!!! Hey Shanahan, how about repeat offender Doan from AZ only getting 3 games?? Oh that’s right Benn from Dallas isn’t the prissy lil b!tch that Sedin is. How about suspending that punk Burrows for kneeing Keith in the nads?? Or Lapierre for every cheap shot he takes?? Give me a fuking break. I hope that lil c#nt Sedin is out for a good long while. Kinda like Toews has been after the cheap shot SJ’s Thorton gave him. I suppose you missed that right??

    what did Sendin get?

I thought he would get more. It was an extremely aggressive elbow with intent to hurt. I’m no Vancouver fan, but that was brutal.

It was more blatant than Shane Doan’s elbow, but I thought it would split the difference of prior history vs. no prior history. I thought he would get 3 games. Though, in general, there should be greater penalties for all illegal hits to have a greater chance of eliminating them from the game
