Keith Suspended 5 Games

(WSCR) Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith has been suspended five games for his hit to the head of Canucks forward Daniel Sedin during Wednesday's game in Chicago.

Keith received the suspension during a phone hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety on Friday afternoon.

He was offered the chance to have an in-person hearing with the league but he waived that opportunity.

Here's an explanation for Keith's suspension from Senior Vice President of Player Safety and Hockey Operations, Brendan Shanahan.
