Two Dead, Seven Wounded In Citywide Shootings

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men are dead and seven others were wounded in shootings throughout the city Saturday night and early Sunday, police said.

A male shooter fired shots into the store in the 13300 block of South Indiana Avenue about 8:45 p.m., hitting a 22-year-old man inside the store in the chest, police said.

Timothy Scott, 22, of 13336 S. Calumet Ave., was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Police found a 46-year-old man in an alley in the 1800 block of West 63rd Street with gunshot wounds to the chest and right arm at 9:28 p.m., police said.

Randy Streeter, 46, of 2839 W. Filmore St., was pronounced dead at 10:27 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the medical examiner's office.

The non-fatal shootings include:

A male of unknown age was shot in the head about 9:58 a.m. in the Northwest Side Hermosa neighborhood, police said, adding that he was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the head about 5:07 p.m. in the 7800 block of South Emerald Avenue, police said.

He was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center, according to Fire Media Affairs.

An 18-year-old man was driving a sedan in the 7900 block of South Damen Avenue about 10:15 p.m. when a gray van pulled up next to him and someone inside fired shots, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the back.

A group of males were walking in the 5800 block of South Halsted Street at 12:33 a.m. when shots were fired by someone on foot, police said. A 19-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

A 34-year-old man was sitting inside of a vehicle in the 300 block of West 47th Street at 1:46 a.m. when a dark-colored mini van drove by and fired shots, police said. He suffered a graze wound to the shoulder and refused medical attention.

An 18-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 4800 block of West Walton Street at 1:19 a.m. when he heard shots and was struck, police said. He was shot in the back and taken in "stable" condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.

An unknown male shot a 27-year-old man after the male attempted to take his jacket at 1:15 a.m. in the 700 block of North Cicero Avenue, police said. The man suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and was taken in good condition to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park. The male then fled the scene.
