MORTON GROVE, Ill. (STMW) — A pedestrian was struck and killed a Metra train Thursday night in north suburban Morton Grove.

It happened about 8 p.m. when an inbound North Central Lines train hit the person, whose identity was not immediately known, said Metra spokesman Tom Miller.

Trains were temporarily stopped in both directions on the North Central and Milwaukee North lines, but Miller said they were moving again as of about 9:20 p.m.
