CHICAGO (CBS) — An 83-year-old woman was stabbed to death in her home in the Far Northwest Side’s Dunning neighborhood Friday morning, and police are questioning a member of her family.
Police were notified around 9:14 a.m. of the stabbing at the woman’s home in the 3800 block of North Normandy Avenue, police said.
The woman suffered fatal stab wounds, police said.
Police were questioning a family member Friday morning in relation to the stabbing, which appears to be a domestic incident.
A neighbor reported called police after not being able to contact the victim on Thursday, and officers entered the home Friday morning to find the body.
The neighbor said the woman lived with her son, who might have mental health problems.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office did not immediately have the identity or other information on the victim.
