(WSCR) Baseball season is just about to kick off in Chicago.

With both the Cubs and White Sox starting their seasons this week, 670 The Score’s Laurence Holmes brought in a piece of baseball history.

Check out the photos below of actual baseball gloves used by Laurence’s grandfather in the 1930s and 1940s.

I played catch with one of those.

In 1994. It is my Dad’s one and only glove. He used a fielder’s glove to play first base. And, I took it to college. It’s not in good shape.
Meanwhile, two little league gloves that have been in the attic for twenty years look near perfect.

I restrung it with a shoelace, but my Johnny Roseboro catchers mitt still works well. Still haven’t forgiven myself for losing my Tito Francona in ’67. Thanks for the pics, LoHo.
