Crap Of The Week: Dan Bernstein

(WSCR) This week's Crap of the Week goes out to co-host of The Boers and Bernstein Show, Dan Bernstein.

Alex Snelius in loving memory of Ursula writes:

Monday, Bernstein was confronted with the frightening reality that the war on dumb may be unwinnable as he fielded inane call after inane called on Ozzie Guillen's Castro comments. The hopelessness of the situation must have gotten to the generally vitriolic host as I heard him make this defeatist observation: 'It was a stupid thing to say,' Bernstein asserted. 'But you can't punish someone for being stupid.' I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Dan, if that statement were true, The Boers and Bernstein Show would cease to exist. You've built an entire career on the inherent joy derived from hearing stupid people get punished for being stupid. When George Offman bungles the English language, did your show stifle its laughter? No, you replay the sound bytes over and over again. When Murph went to the studio to confront Terry on a day he wasn't even there, did you keep that story quiet to protect his dignity? Of course not. You shared it on the air so everybody could laugh at the type of stupidity. When the next listener decide it would be a good idea to call The Score and tell Boers and Bernstein how he doesn't like Lovie Smith just standing there on the sidelines with a blank expression on his face, you're going to shrug and politely thank him for the call? I pray I never see that day. Stupid can and always should be punished. Bernstein, who ya crappin'?
