Boy, 14, Charged With Sexually Assaulting Girl At Evanston High School

EVANSTON, Ill. (CBS) -- A 14-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a fellow student at Evanston Township High School – while school was in session.

A safety officer at the school, at 1600 Dodge Ave. in Evanston, discovered the boy in the stairwell during school hours Monday with a 15-year-old girl, and notified police, according to an Evanston police news release.

Evanston police arrested the boy, after finding out that he had found he allegedly physically forced the girl to perform a sex act, the release said.

He was charged as a juvenile with one count of criminal sexual assault, a class 1 felony, and was taken to the Cook County Juvenile Division Center, the release said.

Parents were also notified of the incident, the release said. The boy's name is being withheld, as he has not been charged as an adult.
