Man Shot Dead On SW Side

CHICAGO (STMW) — A man was shot dead early Sunday on the Near Southwest Side.

The 23-year-old man — identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office as Rudy Correa — was found shot in the chest on the sidewalk in the 2300 block of West Grenshaw Street about 2:50 a.m., police said.

He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County where he was pronounced dead at 3:11 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

No one is in custody and Area Central detectives are investigating.
