WR Gets Prank Call Telling Him He Would Be Drafted In First Round

(WSCR) The first round of the 2012 NFL Draft wasn't a happy time for all college football players.

Take, for instance, Rutgers wide receiver Mohamed Sanu.

Sanu, who was projected to be taken sometime during the second or third round, received a call just before the Bengals made their selection with the 27th pick of the first round. The call informed Sanu he would be drafted by the Bengals. This prompted Sanu's agent Mike McCartney to tweet the news.

The only problem was that this was a prank call, as Sanu quickly learned when he saw NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announce Cincinnati had, in fact, drafted Wisconsin guard Kevin Zeitler.

"Very cruel prank call to Sanu tonight – very sad that someone would do that," McCartney said via Twitter. "My apologies to the twitter world for my tweet."

Sanu took the cruel act in stride.

"Thank God for giving me another day," he tweeted early Friday morning, "and another opportunity to chase my dream ... #thankfulandblessed.
