Police: Home Invader Beats, Sexually Assaults SW Side Woman

CHICAGO (CBS/STMW) — Police are searching for a man who beat and sexually assaulted a 46-year-old woman early Saturday in the Vittum Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

A man between the ages of 20 and 30 forced his way into the woman’s home in the 4500 block of South La Crosse Avenue at about 1:30 a.m., police said in a community alert.

The victim tells CBS a strange man was tapping on her window and trying to get in. She says she grabbed a curtain rod and opened the door to fight him off, but he forced his way into her home, beat her and sexually assaulted her.

Anyone with information can contact Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
