Aurora Man Charged With Abuse Of 3-Year-Old

AURORA (CBS) -- A west suburban Aurora man has been charged in connection with the abuse of a 3-year-old boy.

Deamonte T. Jackson, 19, of the 700 block of Gillette Avenue in Aurora, was charged with two felonies Monday, police said.

According to police, the family left the child at Jackson's home in his care from April 21 to April 27.

When the boy was returned to his family, he had severe bruising on his chest, buttocks and genitals, and the family immediately called police. The incident is not being investigated as a sex crime, police said.

Jackson is charged with aggravated battery of a child under 13 resulting in a permanent disability, and aggravated battery of a child under 13 resulting in great bodily harm.
