Bears Waive Three Players, Make Room For Tryout Signings

(CBS) The Bears cut ties with three players Monday morning, waiving offensive tackle Levi Horn, guard Reggie Stephens and tight end Andre Smith.

Horn spent the majority of the last two seasons on the Bears practice squad after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He never appeared in regular season game.

Stephen and Smith also never played a regular season game with the Bears.

The cuts made room for seven rookie free agent signings following tryouts at rookie mini camp over the weekend. The Bears announced Sunday that they had signed Texas Southern wide receiver Joseph Anderson, Wisconsin-Whitewater quarterback Matt Blanchard,  Concordia tackle Tyler Hendrickson, Central Florida guard Nick Pieschel, Boston College punter Ryan Quigley, Connecticut kicker David Teggart and Illinois State tight end Brandon Venson,
