BURBANK, Ill. (CBS) — Burbank Police have asked the FBI for help in finding the 30-year-old groom accused of murdering his bride over the weekend, and leaving her body in a bathtub, still wearing the dress from her wedding party.
Police issued a first-degree murder warrant for Arnolodo Jimenez, who is suspected of fatally stabbing his newlywed wife, 26-year-old Estrella Carrera, sometime Saturday. On Wednesday, police asked the FBI to help them track down Jimenez, who might have fled to Mexico.
“The FBI has been contacted by the local and county authorities. They are seeking assistance in obtaining a federal fugitive warrant,” FBI Special Agent Joan Hyde said.

Usually, the FBI gets involved to help find someone who is believed to have fled the area – and conducts a national or international manhunt, Hyde said.
Burbank Police said they have received more than 100 tips on Jimenez’s whereabouts – most about sightings his black Maserati – from all over the country, but mostly from the Chicago area.
Jimenez and Carrera were married on Friday at City Hall in Chicago. They had dinner with family and friends that night, then got in a limo to go to their home in Burbank early Saturday morning.
On Sunday, Carrera’s body was found in the bathtub of her Burbank condo. She had been stabbed multiple times and was still wearing the same silver sequined cocktail dress she wore to the party to celebrate her marriage.
Carrera and Jimenez were last seen around 4 a.m. Saturday, when they left a North Side nightclub, where they were celebrating with friends and family.
Carrera was supposed to pick up her two children, ages 2 and 9, from relatives on Saturday, but she never did, and relatives asked police for a well-being check, leading to the discovery of her dead body Sunday afternoon. Police said there were no signs of forced entry at her condo.
Burbank Police Capt. Joe Ford said investigators are looking into a phone call that Jimenez reportedly made to a relative over the weekend, saying he left his new wife bleeding after a “bad fight.”
There is concern Jimenez might have fled to Mexico.
“Well, he’s had a head start. He does have family in the area. He does have kids in the area. That always keeps you tied to the area. Could he have left? Sure,” Ford said. “We’re taking precautions to prevent (him) leaving the country, but our contiguous borders – Canada and Mexico – it’s pretty easy to get out of the country.”
Officials said Jimenez does have family in Mexico.
Police believe Jimenez is driving a 2006 four-door Maserati with Illinois license plate L641441.
