Emanuel Says NATO Summit Was Worth The Risk

CHICAGO (CBS) -- NATO Summit 2012 is a wrap and Chicago's mayor is applauding the city's efforts to host the giant event.

"I can't tell you how many times world leaders mentioned how kind the people of the city of Chicago are, how beautiful the city was and how clean our city was," Mayor Rahm Emanuel told reporters at a news conference Monday.

Even with the image of thousands of protesters in the street, he said Chicago police kept things safe. Emanuel says the risk was worth it.

"I think hosting the largest NATO summit in 63 years' history, we have reached another milestone in the city's history," the mayor said.

The mayor said he also talked a little shot with world leaders about bringing business to Chicago.
