CHICAGO (CBS) — A driver hit a guardrail and died after losing control of his vehicle on the Kennedy Expressway overnight.
Late Thursday night, a man driving a 1998 Toyota sport-utility vehicle lost control and hit the guardrail in the outbound lanes just south of the Montrose Avenue exit, according to Illinois State Police.
The man was thrown from the vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.
Two lanes of traffic and the Montrose Avenue exit ramp were closed for a short time after the accident.
The name and age of the victim, and other additional details, were not immediately available Friday morning.
