Ventura, Quintana Ejected In Fourth

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Chicago White Sox starter Jose Quintana has been ejected for throwing a pitch behind a hitter.

Quintana was tossed by plate umpire Mark Wegner with two outs in the fourth of Wednesday's game against Tampa Bay when his first pitch went behind Ben Zobrist at knee level.

Rays starter Alex Cobb hit two White Sox batters — Gordon Beckham during the first and A.J. Pierzynski in the third — during the game. Pierzynski was hit with a runner on second and one out.

Chicago manager Robin Ventura was also ejected by Wegner for arguing the call.
