Logan Square Standoff Ends With Man's Arrest

CHICAGO (CBS) -- One man was in police custody Thursday morning, after holding Chicago Police officers and SWAT teams at bay for more than three hours in the Logan Square neighborhood.

Police said the man barricaded himself into an apartment in the 2300 block of North California Avenue – near Milwaukee Avenue – just after 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers responded to the scene on a call of a domestic disturbance, the Sun-Times Media Wire reported.

At first, the officers thought the man had hostages inside, but none were found. The man also claimed he had a weapon, but police could not confirm that he was really armed, the wire reported.

The man was arrested around 12:30 a.m. without incident.
