JOLIET, Ill. (STMW) – An 18-year-old man from southwest suburban Plainfield is accused of molesting a 12-year-old boy for more than a year.

Cmdr. Al Roechner said the victim and his parents reported the abuse on May 12 and claimed a family friend had “touched the boy inappropriately.”

Detectives arranged for a victim-sensitive interview and the investigation continued Saturday afternoon when police went to question Jason T. Minger, 18, at his workplace, Rosewood Care Center.

“He agreed to come down to the station and admitted the allegations,” Roechner said. Minger, of the 23500 block of West Lynn St. in Plainfield, was booked into the Will County jail on four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault.
