CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago actor Vince Vaughn appears to be a bit more eager to sell his swanky downtown penthouse, slashing the asking price by about $6 million.

The 12,000-square-foot layout in the Palmolive Building, 159 E. Walton St., which was once headquarters of Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Enterprises years ago, is now listed for $18.4 million.

According to a report in Curbed Chicago, the star of “Wedding Crashers,” “The Breakup” and other comedies, originally listed the property privately for $24.7 million.

At $18.4 million, assuming a 20 percent down payment ($3.6 million) and a 30-year fixed mortgage at 3.75 percent, the monthly mortgage would be $68,171. Plus, there’s a $11,595 monthly association fee, according to the listing information.

The three-story penthouse has five bedrooms and six bathrooms. It also boasts a screening room, game room and a “Hugh Hefner original restored Playboy office,” according to the listing. It also has a huge terrace “perfect for the Air and Water Show.”

Vaughn bought the condo for $12 million in 2006.

You won’t find Hefner’s little black book in that office, however. It’s on display at the Chicago History Museum.

The Vaughn residence is not the most expensive property in Chicago. Donald Trump is asking $32 million for the entire 89th floor at Trump Tower, 401 N. Wabash, which was once the site of the Chicago Sun-Times building.
