2 Dead, 3 Wounded In Back Of The Yards Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) — Two men were killed and three others wounded in a Back of the Yards neighborhood shooting Friday night on the South Side.

Four people were shot at 4:41 p.m. in the 5100 block of South May Street, police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien said, citing preliminary information.

Paramedics took three men to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where two were pronounced dead, Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said. The third man was in critical condition.

Police said family or bystanders took the fourth person to an area hospital, but that person’s condition was not immediately known.

The deceased were reportedly in their 20s, officials said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
