Updated 06/11/12 - 12:25 p.m.

LANSING (CBS) -- Two south suburban boys who had been missing since Saturday were found safe on Monday, shortly after police began seeking help finding them.

David Surratt, 10, and Charles Surratt, 13, were reported missing on Saturday night.

Police distributed a news release and flyers asking for help finding the two boys late Monday morning, neighbors spotted them and called police.

When police officers tried to pick up the boys, they ran, but police caught them a short time later. The boys were being taken to the Lansing Police Department to be reunited with their family.

There had been evidence that the boys returned to their home at 17748 Rosewood Drive after they went missing. Cereal boxes were reported taken from the home, as well as blue and red Spider-Man blankets.
