Firefighters Douse Blaze Beneath Amtrak Train On Far South Side

CHICAGO (STMW) - Emergency crews put out a fire underneath an Amtrak passenger train on the city's Far South Side Tuesday evening.

Firefighters responded shortly before 7 p.m. for the fire on the passenger train in the 11500 block of South State Street, according to Fire Media Affairs.

Responding crews found flames under the trains, which they quickly put out with a hand pump, according to Fire Media Affairs.

An Amtrak spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
