Friends took Buck to Holy Cross Hospital, where he died from a gunshot wound to the head, police said. Paramedics took the woman to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she remains in “guarded” condition early Saturday.
Non-fatal shootings across the city left eight other people injured, and the wounded were mostly men in their early-20s to early-30s who were treated at area hospitals in “stable” condition, police said.
The most seriously hurt was a 26-year-old man found shot on the street in the 1400 block of South Keller Avenue about 1:15 a.m. on Saturday when police responded to a disturbance at a large party, police said. He remains in critical condition at Mount Sinai with gunshot wounds to the chest and back.
The youngest victim was a 16-year-old boy who was shot in the 1000 block of North Long Avenue about 11 p.m. Friday when someone opened fire at a vehicle he was riding in, police said. A 22-year-old man was sitting in a vehicle at a Burger King drive-thru in the 1700 block of East 95th Street about 10:20 p.m. Friday when he was shot in the back, police said. The man drove himself to his home a short distance away before he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in “stable” condition.
No one is in custody for any of the shootings as of early Saturday. Area detectives are investigating.
