CHICAGO (STMW) – A man was fatally shot early Sunday on the block where he lived in the West Side Austin neighborhood, police said.
The man, 36, was inside a vehicle about 1:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of North Lorel Avenue when he was shot, according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
Police responded to a call of shots fired and found the man slumped over the wheel of the vehicle, Greer said.
Daniel Dilce, 35, of the 1300 block of North Lorel Avenue, was pronounced dead at 2:13 am. at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
No one was in custody early Sunday.
Area North detectives are investigating.
