Glen Ellyn Teens Charged With Shooting Out 30 Car Windows

GLEN ELLYN, Ill. (CBS) — Two Glen Ellyn teenagers are facing felony charges for allegedly shooting out car windows in three western suburbs.

As WBBM Newsradio’s Mike Krauser reports, DuPage County sheriff’s officers were responding on June 9 to a call of a broken car window in unincorporated Glen Ellyn. They were told there was a suspicious car in the area, and found it a short time later – along with two teenagers and a pellet gun.

Police have tied the pair – Patrick Kolp, 18; and Matthew Kataura, 17, both of unincorporated Glen Ellyn – to 14 incidents in Glen Ellyn, Wheaton and Lombard, involving 30 car windows that were shot out, and one house window near Butterfield Road and Route 53.

The teenagers are charged with felony criminal damage to property.
