CHICAGO (STMW) – A teenage boy was killed in the South Side Hamilton Park neighborhood and at least 13 others were wounded in shootings in the city Friday night into Saturday morning.

Antonio Davis, 14, of the 800 block of South Eberhart Avenue, was dead on the scene following a shooting about 8:40 p.m. near the intersection of South Union Avenue and West 69th Street, officials said.

Police are investigating the shooting as a possible drive-by.

The most recent shooting occurred Saturday morning in the North Side Lincoln Park near the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.

At least one male was shot about 4 a.m. in the 2400 block of North Cannon Drive in the same incident in which a female was struck by a vehicle, police said.

Three people were transported from the scene – two to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and one to Northwestern Memorial Hospital – in unidentified conditions, according to Fire Media Affairs.

Police could not confirm Saturday morning whether more than one person was shot in the attack or if the third person was instead struck by the vehicle.

Since 8:40 p.m. Friday, at least 12 other people were wounded in nine separate shootings throughout the city, police said.

The largest number of people wounded in a single attack came about 12:30 a.m. when three men – ages 18, 22, and 23 – were critically injured in a shooting near the 7000 block of South Chappel Avenue, police said.

No one was in custody in connection with any of the shootings Saturday morning.
