One Killed, One In Custody In West Side Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Charges are pending against a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a man early Sunday in the West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood, police said.

A 29-year-old man was shot in the chest about 2 a.m. in the 3700 block of West Chicago Avenue, according to police News Affairs.

He was identified as Hansen Jackson of the 1500 block of South 61st Street, and was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 2:35 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

He was shot multiple times in the chest, the medical examiner's office said.

A person of interest was in custody Sunday morning and charges are pending, police said.

Area North detectives are investigating.
