5 Hurt In Crash On Lake Shore Drive
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Five people were hospitalized early Monday after a crash that reportedly involved an ambulance on Lake Shore Drive downtown.
Two cars collided just before 12:15 a.m. Monday on Lake Shore Drive near Balbo Drive, police said.
Some reports said the crash involved an ambulance and another vehicle, but video from the scene showed two civilian vehicles that had collided in the traffic lanes.
Five people were transported from the scene, Fire Media Affairs said. One person was taken in critical condition and four others in serious condition to area hospitals.
Three were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, two were taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Fire Media Affairs said.
