Dewayne Wise Fools Umpire, Yankee Stadium Into Thinking He Made Spectacular Catch

(WSCR) Dewayne Wise has a history of making spectacular catches.

Look no further than his web gem from Mark Buehrle’s perfect game to see just how well Wise can flash some leather. In last night’s Yankees game, however, Wise made an entirely different kind of spectacular play.

Wise fooled umpire Mike DiMuro – and most of Yankee Stadium – into believe he made an unbelievable, fall-over-the-railing catch.

In the video below, Wise dives over the railing, apparently making the catch on a foul ball. However, instant replays show that Wise never caught the ball. In fact, he never even had it in his glove.

Still, Wise was credited with the catch, providing the third out of the inning.

Check out the video.
