Dirty Girl Mud Run

June 28, 2012 - CBS 2 News at 5 and 6 AM

When you hear people say "dirty girl," you probably think they're being suggestive or risqué. But it doesn't have to be that way. They could be talking about plain old-fashioned mud. That's right, mud.

CBS 2's Vince Gerasole spent the morning at the Lake County Fairgrounds, where some brave women were training for the Dirty Girl Mud Run.

The event is described as a non-intimidating competition for women of all ages and abilities, where they can "let their hair down and enjoy some mud, sweat, and cheers."

The Mud Run consists of a 5k course with 11 obstacles created by a former Army Ranger.

Runs are scheduled on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again on Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Lake County Fairgrounds, at 1060 E. Peterson Rd. in Libertyville.
