Illinois Not On Jabari Parker’s List, But DePaul Is

CHICAGO (CBS) — Simeon basketball star Jabari Parker, considered by most to be the top high school basketball player in next year’s class, announced on Twitter today that the University of Illinois is not on his final list of colleges, although DePaul is.

Parker, who some have said is the best high school basketball player since LeBron James, listed — in no particular order — Kentucky, Stanford, Michigan State, Kansas, Florida, Duke, BYU, Georgetown, Depaul, and North Carolina as his choices for college.

The Simeon junior was the first non-senior to be named Mr. Basketball of Illinois, and the Fighting Illini had been hoping to convince him to join the squad as they rebuild with new head coach John Groce.
