CHICAGO (STMW) – Police have issued an alert warning residents of the West Side Lawndale neighborhood of a man and woman who, working together, have robbed women at gunpoint of their purses.

The robberies took place between June 23 and July 12, in the 1200 block of South Kostner Avenue, 3541 block of West Ogden Avenue and the 1900 block of South Ridgeway Avenue, an alert from Area Central detectives said.

In the reported incidents, a man approached victims on the sidewalk, displayed a black handgun and took the victims’ purses with force. In each of these incidents he fled in a red-colored vehicle, possibly a Ford Focus, driven by a woman believed to be between 20 and 30 years old.
