CHICAGO (CBS) — A string of thunderstorms is causing major delays for air travelers heading to and from the East Coast.

Delays between one and three hours are being reported on flights from O’Hare to the New York City corridor, Washington D.C., Washington Dulles, Boston and Hartford.

Chicago’s aviation department says 100 flights have been canceled at O’Hare this afternoon.

Midway is experiencing 30 minute delays or longer.
