Garza Won't Pitch Until After Trade Deadline

(WSCR) The Cubs were dealt a potentially damaging blow when Matt Garza left Saturday's game after just three innings with what the team is calling "tricept cramping."

MRI results came back clean, but Garza will not start until after the July 31 trade deadline.

Garza, along with Ryan Dempster, is seen by many as the Cubs most-tradeable asset. The 28-year-old Garza is 5-7 with 3.91 ERA this season.

"He's doing better," Sveum told the Chicago Tribune. "We'll wait and see what happens with his throwing program. It's possible (he'll start) maybe late next week."
