CHICAGO (CBS) – The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is investigating the death of a 1-year-old girl in the Roseland neighborhood last night.

It was about 9:30 in the evening when Iyonna Davis was pronounced dead at Roseland Community Hospital.

DCFS says it is investigating the death of the one-year-old girl – specifically allegations of neglect against Iyonna’s mother.

A DCFS spokesman says the agency has had no prior contact with the family, who lives near 109th and Eberhart.

An autopsy is expected to be performed today on Iyonna Davis.
