Report: Titans WR Murdock Dies From Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

(CBS) Tennessee wide receiver O.J. Murdock died Monday morning from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to The Tennessean.

The Tampa Tribune reports Murdock shot himself in front of his high school in Tampa.

According to the reports, Murdock was discovered by police in his car around 8:30 a.m. ET Monday morning. He was transported to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition.

The wide receiver failed to report to training camp last week. Titans coach Mike Munchak told the Tennessean it was for "personal reasons." Originally an undrafted free agent out of Fort Hays State in 2011, Murdock never played a game for the Titans. He spent last season on injured reserve.
