(WSCR) Cubs manager Dale Sveum announced Tuesday that starting pitcher Matt Garza will likely be shut down for the remainder of the season.
Garza hasn’t pitched since July 21 because of a triceps injury and subsequent stress reaction within his elbow.
In 18 starts this season Garza is 5-7 with a 3.91 ERA.
As originally told to @thekapman Dale Sveum just told reporters it's doubtful Garza will return to mound this season.—
