Person Shot In Pilsen Runs To Fire Station For Help

CHICAGO (STMW) - A person ran into a Pilsen neighborhood fire station Wednesday afternoon after being shot in the throat just blocks away.

The shooting happened at 3:28 p.m. in the 1900 block of West Cullerton Street, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

One person was left with gunshot wounds to the arm and throat and ran into a firehouse nearby on South Damen Avenue, Zala said. Emergency crews took the person to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in good condition.

The victim's gender and age were not immediately available.

No one is in custody Wednesday evening, and Area Central detectives are investigating.
